2011 Beef Quality Audit Released

It’s because of passion that America’s cattlemen have a long tradition of producing the safest, highest quality and most affordable beef in the world and are continuously working to raise the bar.  That passion was never more evident than during the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) 2012 Cattle Industry Summer Conference in Denver, Colorado where cattlemen eagerly attended the release of the 2011 National Beef Quality Audit (NBQA.)

With the beef industry changing rapidly, all segments of the industry face new challenges every day. The most extensive industry audit of its kind, the NBQA, funded by the Beef Checkoff, provides both beef producers and market sectors with the tools to meet and overcome their industry challenges. Information gathered from the research helps to measure improvement compared to previous surveys and serves as a benchmark for future research and education opportunities.

Dr. Tom Field, NBQA project coordinator, not only shared areas for continued improvement but measureable industry successes since the last audit, including tremendous steps in improving marbling, tenderness and eating satisfaction as a whole.

As an industry driven by science, the NBQA also provides the data to help cattlemen tell their story; a story of constant dedication to animal welfare, food safety, and authentic, honest communication on industry challenges.
